Tulsi was a young mom cat trying to survive outside with older kittens, all rescued just before the winter chill. Initially thought feral, once she had settled in her foster home she started flirting with the docile male resident cat. Tulsi has started approaching her foster mom in a coy manner, along with the friendly resident cats, for nightly treats and brief pets. She enjoys head scratches and rubs against the furniture wanting to be petted, but hasn’t dropped her guard enough yet to approach by herself. She is easily overwhelmed and quite feisty with her swats (claws out) when her limits are pushed, but is clearly enjoying the benefits of indoor life. She is a very playful girl with a lot of sass, she is very flirty with gentle male cats but can be dominant and forceful with other female cats. It’s recommended that her new home has an easy going male cat who will show her the ropes and enjoy her attention. Although I can’t pick her up, and she’s still got a lot of socialisation progress to make, I believe with patience and the right home environment, she will become a fun and feisty companion. Tulsi has super soft fur and a very haughty expression! She seems to know her name .

About Me:

She is a bit fussy with food, preferring chicken gravy cuts to seafood but likes kibble and temptations. Due to her shy nature an initial video meet and greet is recommended. CAT WHISPERER NEEDED: Tulsi is a work in progress, but the reward of saving a cat from the harshness & dangers of outdoor life is so worth the effort and time. Tulsi was born and raised outside and likely had limited human interaction. But, she has shown over time that they can establish a connection with humans and be happy indoors. She is now doing well in her indoor life, with all the perks that come with it; a family, warmth, food, company, affection and love. It will take awhile to achieve and build upon the same level of trust as with her foster parents. She will likely hide until adjusted. She needs a special family who will take the time to show patience and build her confidence, just like her foster family did. It may take a month or more, but she is worth it! Her foster parents with Ottawa Stray Cat Rescue can offer you tips and tricks that helped in their foster home.

Notes:

The adoption fee includes a health check, first vaccination in a series and any that become due while in care, first anti-parasite treatments needed in care, spay or neuter and microchip at our Veterinary partner. There is a 10% discount when you adopt 2 cats/kittens. The adopter will be responsible for any vaccine or boosters, anti-parasite treatments that are needed after adoption. Kittens usually need 3 vaccines, one month apart starting at age 7 weeks. Juveniles and Adult cats usually require 2 vaccines one month apart in the first year, then annual vaccines. Deworming is recommended at the time of each vaccine appointment. If you are intending to adopt, please be aware that your Veterinary clinic may be experiencing backlogs in scheduling appointments, so do not delay calling your clinic to book your new cat's needed booster appointment(s). Please note that cats are not tested for FIV/FeLV nor can FIP be predicted. We will share any medical information gathered during our health checks and observations revealed during their time in care. But it is important to know that some illnesses can have an incubation period of 10 days, which means that a cat can leave in good health but get sick a few days post adoption. In addition, the stress of a new environment can affect a cats’ immune system.
