My Story: I’m Cassy, your next Atlético Ottawa soccer kitty player! I want to be your next star soccer player, but most importantly I enjoy being active and entertained, it keeps me out of kitty trouble. My foster mom asked me to make a resume, can you believe that!? Here it is! : Occupation - Kitty Soccer player and naps on the cat tree Special talents - I chirp, meow, purr-meow, have a fabulous singing mews Dream job - to be the next soccer kitty for Atlético Ottawa! Commands - I know “come” and I know my name pretty well. I am learning “place”, “sit”, and “carrier” training Favourite game - Interactive whack-a-mole, with a spinning wand toy Favourite meals - Almo Nature wet and Tiki cat wet Favourite snacks - Temptation beef and Churus Forbidden - please don’t touch my belly, I don’t like it, I know my belly is so very fluffy and soft, it’s forbidden to be touched Foster Notes: Cassy was adopted and returned after a few years as she was not coping well in her home. We believe Cassy can be as successful in her future home as she has been in her foster home. She has needed lots of playtime and interactive toys to help expend her energy. Attending to her triggers and body language and providing space for her to hide or time out on her own has been very helpful in her success. While Cassy has been in foster care she has wanted to hide, so she has been provided with cat appropriate hiding spaces and with lots of space for her to feel comfortable. Her favourite places are on top of the cat tree while looking out of the window and laying at the top of the stairs overlooking her territory. Cassy is a very active cat, and play sessions are recommended 3-times a day for 15 minutes at a time as well as providing free access to toys for her to play with on her own. Her favourite toys are soft small foam soccer balls, mice, and springs. An interactive toy is also recommended as Cassy enjoys playing with a toy that randomly goes off when she walks next to it. Her favourite is the interactive whack-a-mole, with a spinning wand toy. Cassy is a great cat who needs her person/people around much of the time to keep her company, play with her, but also allow her some space on her own. Her foster patent can provide tips and advice to help her settle into her future home.
ADOPTION FEE: The adoption fee is $225.00 (which includes a health check, first vaccination in a series and any that become due while in care, first anti-parasite treatments needed in care, spay or neuter and microchip at our Veterinary partner). There is a 10% discount when you adopt 2 cats/kittens. The adopter will be responsible for any vaccine or boosters, anti-parasite treatments that are needed after adoption. Kittens usually need 3 vaccines, one month apart starting at age 7 weeks. Juveniles and Adult cats usually require 2 vaccines one month apart in the first year, then annual vaccines. Deworming is recommended at the time of each vaccine appointment. If you are intending to adopt, please be aware that your Veterinary clinic may be experiencing backlogs in scheduling appointments, so do not delay calling your clinic to book your new cat's needed booster appointment(s). Please note that cats are not tested for FIV/FeLV nor can FIP be predicted. We will share any medical information gathered during our health checks and observations revealed during their time in care. But it is important to know that some illnesses can have an incubation period of 10 days, which means that a cat can leave in good health but get sick a few days post adoption. In addition, the stress of a new environment can affect a cats’ immune system.
